The Canada Anemone

The Canada Anemone, also known as the Anemone Canadensis as it scientific name, is in the buttercup family because of the beautiful white buttercup sprouting out from the middle of the plants circle of green leaves. This flower blossoms in the warm summer monthes of May, June and July and is 1 inch around while the entire plant is 1-2 feet tall. The leaves that suround the flower are jagged and have the points on the end. This common anemone can be found in meadows, low thickets and along stream banks all over Canada, especialy in its native province Ontario. It also has contents that make treatments and medications for wounds, sores, nosebleeds, and can be made into an eyewash. In Saskatchewan and Alberta the plant is endangered due to its loss of habitat. I chose this plant to research for my science class because it was unique, I hadnt seen anything else like it looking for a plant to choose.
